ArtWorks-NH's next Artist Exchange will be its most laugh-filled yet, thanks to a visit by New Hampshire humorist and storyteller Rebecca Rule.

Becky, the author of “Live Free and Eat Pie: A Storyteller's Guide to New Hampshire,” will open the annual training for artists and artisans with a keynote speech on Friday morning, Nov. 6, at Southern New Hampshire University in Manchester.

As anyone who has read any of her five books knows, Becky has an eye and ear for the peculiarities of New Hampshire folk, and a gift for knitting those eccentricities into hilarious tales of everyday life.

Once they’ve finished laughing, Artist Exchange attendees will spend the remainder of the day-long training with marketing and financial management tools they can use.

Art consultant and former gallery owner Trish Anderson-Soule and Nancy Clark of The Glen Group will work with artists on creating attractive portfolios, evaluating their marketing mix and branding, and identifying new places and alternative spaces to showcase their work – both online and in the local community.

Deborah Lee Moulton of A Step Up Bookkeeping Services and Tim Dabrieo of Waddell & Reed Financial Advisors will offer financial management tools – accessible, easy, practical systems to create good budgets and cash flow.

The day will wrap up with a presentation of the annual Artist Innovation Award, and a roundtable discussion of lessons and ideas generated by the trainings.

Registration is required, and the fee of $45 for MicroCredit-NH members and $55 for non-members includes snacks and lunch. A limited number of full and partial scholarships are available. Please call 800.769.3482.
